Memories And My Mother
Forthcoming work by Director
In the rapidly changing city of Calcutta, Manu tries to hold on to his ancestral house while his cousins Bhaskar and Dolly are at the centre of the city's shift. A cathartic moment leads to their unravelling. Based on real events, the film is an absurd fairy tale that explores the confusions of a degenerating city.
"Memories And My Mother”, is still under development and will be an international co-production. The project is the first ever Bengali language feature to be a part of Cinefondations’ L’Atelier at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016, it was also a part of the NFDC’s co production market at the Film Bazaar in 2015. MAMM has received funding from France’s CNC (Cinema du Monde) and has Catherine Dessert Productions, France and Barentsfilm, Norway on board as co producers. The project is seeking additional funding from Indian or International producers and funds.
